Christian Education
Chair: Ericka Kammerer christianed@ucpreston.org This is a very vibrant and wide-ranging ministry. Its programs
include Sunday School for all ages, Disciple Bible study, a
very busy youth ministry, confirmation, Vacation Bible School, the
preschool programs, training of teachers, leadership training,
training in child protection and safety, preparation for children to
participate in worship, Godly Play, parent enrichment programs and
scouting programs. This ever expanding program is possible because UCP
recognizes the importance of education in the development of effective
disciples for Jesus Christ.
Congregational Life -
Chair: Jim Vollmer conglife@ucpreston.org The Congregational Life Ministry is made up of the
chairpersons of different UCP committees and fellowship groups. The
ministry provides social and fellowship
activities, coordinates home
visits and meals to members in crisis and initiates various spiritual
programs. The Ministry includes Congregational Fellowship,
Congregational Care, Women in the Spirit (W.I.T.S.), and a monthly Men’s
Group. The committee also coordinates the coffee hour each Sunday
after both services.
Women in the Spirit (WITS)
The UCP Women's group welcomes all women for fellowship
in a nurturing environment of varied activities including a Book Group,
retreats, spiritual growth study series
and other events throughout the year. For more

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Congregational

Volunteers are needed to provide cookies and pastries for the coffee
hour after both services. UCP provides the beverages. No
peanut products please - some children are very allergic to

Missions -
Chair: Susan Owensby missions@ucpreston.org The Missions
Ministry of UCP strives to encourage all members of the church to be
involved in ways that serve those whom Jesus served - the poor, sick,
outcast, imprisoned, homeless and/or hungry. UCP's missions work
encompasses local, regional, national and international needs.
Stewardship/Finance - Chair: Steve Webb
stewardship@ucpreston.org The Stewardship/Finance Ministry has the responsibility for
stewardship programs and all finance, budget and audit issues and
consists of three committees: Stewardship, Finance, and the Endowment
Committee. The Stewardship Committee conducts the Stewardship
Campaign each fall which culminates with Consecration Sunday and
also the Time
& Talent survey when church members volunteer to help

Witness - Chair: Tim Rinaman witness@ucpreston.org The focus of the Witness Ministry is to expand the
outreach of the UCP to the Word of God and the Love of our Lord,
Jesus to the community which UCP serves and to communicate the Good
News to members and all we touch through the following: Quarterly Inquirers Classes, Web Page
Development, Research on Evangelism and Growth, Visitor Program(s),
"Bring a Friend" Sundays,
E-mail Policy, Advertising Policy, Interfaith
Programs, utilizing
the local Chamber of Commerce. See photos of New

Worship - Chair: Meg Moore worship@ucpreston.org The Worship Ministry is made up of
UCP Staff, including pastors, music directors, pianists/organists,
acolytes, ushers, and lay members, to plan the worship for the UCP congregation. Besides
taking care of all the elements which go into regular Sunday worship,
which includes such things as communion stewardship and creation
of the worship environment, its responsibility
is to plan the worship life for all of the major Sundays of the
Liturgical Year, including Reformation
Sunday, All Saints, Christ the King, Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas,
Epiphany, Ash Wednesday, Lenten Services, Holy Week, Easter Sunday
and Pentecost, as well as special services as they may arise. UCP
is blessed to have many very talented musicians within the congregation.
We maintain a very active music program including children’s and
adult choirs, adult and youth bell choirs and a "Total Praise"
dance group.
Acolyte
Training
Calling
all rising 2nd graders to rising 6th graders:
Being an acolyte during Worship is an important responsibility.
The acolyte, brings the light of Christ into our presence in the
sanctuary to signify the beginning of our Worship time; it is a
wonderful and meaningful way to participate in our worship service.
